Those of you who may have checked out our website from time to time know we haven't updated this page since 2001. In the interim, there have been many new animals born, some sold, some culled, and some old favorites still here. Dave hates letting any animals go, and Peg thinks the numbers need to be scaled down because
we are getting old.
We added a Junior
Herdsire, Cream-of-Kansas'
Wisconsintrek, last fall. He
"trekked" to us from Kansas via Milwaukee, and our son Scott
works for Trek Bicycles in Wisconsin, and we name our kids with the
tattoo letter of the year, so the name worked for us. What a game
these names can become. Trek's paternal granddam was the 2006 National
Champion, and his littermate sister was a Spotlight Sale consignment
in Milwaukee. Back several generations on Trek's dam's side is Tonka
Tails Jack of Hearts, the son of our foundation doe, GCH Body Shops
Cherry Angel Cake. With several herds represented in the middle of his
pedigree, we think he will be fun to work with - we used him heavily
after his arrival, and you will see his offspring listed in our young
stock.
Show is still a
most enjoyable part of raising goats, and the 2006 National Show
yielded us "Premier Oberhasli Breeder" and "Premier
Sire" (CH*B Loughlin's Playing with Fire) awards. We
were in
Gillette this summer - we showed Cherry at our last National Show
there in 1991, and it was fun to go back. Tonka-Tails Victoria Ann
was the 2007 Reserve National GCH
